PBAT Biodegradable Material

According to statistics, more than 8 billion tons of plastics have been produced in the world, of which 9% have been recycled and 90% have been landfilled, burned or thrown into the sea. And of the 90% of the non recyclable garbage, 8 million tons of it flows into the ocean every year.

Scientists have pointed out that plastic products may not degrade for centuries, and its pollution crisis may lead to "permanent pollution" of the earth, which has triggered a global "plastic ban".

On December 4, 2018, the United Nations announced to launch the global anti plastic pollution action; in early May 2019, plastic waste was listed as the restricted object of global import and export; so far, more than 15 countries and regions have issued "plastic ban orders": including the United Kingdom, France, Chile, Australia, India, South Korea, Iceland, etc., and China's "plastic ban order" has also been issued.

In such a premise, biodegradable materials as environmental protection, the maintenance of human sustainable development is an inevitable trend.

PBAT is a high molecular compound synthesized from fossil fuels. It is a copolymer of butylene adipate (PA) and potassium butylene terephthalate (PBT). It has both the characteristics of PBA and PBT. Because of its aliphatic and aromatic segments in its structure, it contains flexible aliphatic chain, which ensures its good ductility, elongation at break, heat resistance and impact resistance, It has good biodegradability, almost completely biodegradable, and has no harm to the environment. It is one of the most active biodegradable materials in the research and market application of biodegradable plastics. The end product is usually made by blending PLA and PBAT resin. The main markets of PBAT are plastic packaging film, agricultural film, disposable plastic bag and disposable plastic tableware. The applications of PBAT are as follows:

Application Product
Film Agricultural plastic film, shrink film, preservative film
Plastic Bag

Shopping bag, trash bag

Coating For biodegradable coating of paper cup, wrapping paper and so on
Disposal Disposal tableware

With the expansion of product application field, energy conservation and environmental protection requirements promote the stable demand of the industry. PBAT, as a good environmental protection material, can reduce the consumption of petroleum resources and alleviate "white pollution". With the international promotion and in-depth research, the comprehensive performance of PBAT has been improved, and the price of its products has been greatly reduced, and it has gradually replaced the traditional plastics to achieve sustainable development. The production of All Round PBAT has good raw material conditions and production conditions, good technology development, large potential market, good industrialization prospect and sustainable development.
